Chet Atkins, Smooth playa

Nobody plays this smoothly and understated. Chet Atkins reinvented country guitar playing and guitar playing in general. Here's a clip of him and the lovely Anita Carter.

In his list of the ten most influential guitarists of all time, Atkins rightly included himself (though, modestly, mid list):

1. Django Reinhardt

then the others, in no particular order:

Charlie Christian
Eddie Lang
Merle Travis
Chet Atkins
Augustin Barrios
Les Paul
Wes Montgomery
Lenny Breau
Johnny Smith
Jimi Hendrix

Hello friend. You need guitar lessons. I need an income. How fortuitous that you should find me here! I am offering lessons for all levels in guitar, banjo (tenor and 5 string) and ukelele. I teach a variety of styles, including rock, folk, country and improvisation. My emphasis is on ear training and theory, with lessons tailored to your individual needs.

I have been playing the guitar for 14 years, both in touring bands and as a solo performer and songwriter. I have played guitar, bass, ukelele and percussion onstage and am also proficient in banjo and mandolin.

Students of all ages welcome. Lessons are $30/hour, and your first lesson is free. Located in the Mile End of Montreal.
